We're kicking off the winter season with renewed energy on December 13, 2025, at the same time as the Almtal Kasberg cable cars! We look forward to your visit!
Winter season 2025/2026
We will open the Hochberghaus for the winter season at the same time as the Almtal cable cars on December 13, 2025. Please contact our reception to coordinate your arrival in winter.
Summer season 2026
The access road from Farrenau leads you directly to the Hochberghaus in a magically beautiful location above the Almtal valley.
We open for the summer season from May 1st and will be open until the end of October 2026 for your relaxing nature experiences, including our restaurant with sun terrace! Our hotel and restaurant are open 7 days a week and look forward to your visit high above the Almtal valley.
Fantastic food, celebrations, hiking, rest
From the Hochberghaus, you can hike along magnificent circular trails with panoramic views to the peaks of the Kasberg and other destinations. Our unique restaurant with homemade dishes is the ideal place to enjoy expertly prepared cuisine.
Our rustic ski lodge is also a top venue for celebrations and weddings in the summer.
Important information
Since the mountain road requires extensive maintenance, we charge a €15 usage fee per car for day visitors. For guests with the Salzkammergut Summer Card 2025, this amount is reduced to €12 per car.
This ensures the road remains safe and usable for everyone. This benefits both the surrounding forest and road users. Road use is free for hotel guests staying overnight at the Hochberghaus.
