Hiking on Kasberg - Plan

 

Here is a recommended hiking route on the Kasberg and a visit to the Almtal valley. You can find an alternative route suggestion at the end of the map.

👉 Focus: Farrenau + Hochberghaus + Kasberg peak

🗓️ Day 1: Arrival + high mountain hike

🥾 Afternoon: Easy alpine hike

📍 Route: Hochberghaus → Kasbergalm → back

Duration: 2–3 hours Difficulty: easy

✅ Ideal for arrival ✅ Open alpine meadows and beautiful views

  • Dining at Hochberghaus

  • Perfect sunset (very peaceful location!)

🗓️ Day 2: Ascent to the summit of Kasberg (1,747 m)

🌅 Start early

📍 Start right at the Hochberghaus

🥾 Route

👉 Hochberghaus → Sepp-Huber-Hütte → Summit Kasberg

Data:

  • Duration: ~4–5 hours

  • Elevation: ~500–600 m

  • Difficulty: medium

✅ Hochberghaus is worth its weight in gold → saves energy + best location

✅ Start early on day 2 → typical afternoon cloudiness

✅ Bring water/sunscreen → lots of open terrain

✅ Check the weather → the summit boasts a view.

Alternative plan: First day hike from Hochberghaus to the top of Kasberg, dinner at Hochberghaus (forest sauna, panoramic terrace, sunset, delicious food, quiet place). Second day descent to Almsee lake and then return.
